Business/Consulting
Consulting Challenges
I have really enjoyed taking part in several business-related consulting opportunities. Connecting my interests in the technical aspects of science/engineering with the business side of making a true impact on society would be my ideal type of work. Here are some of the more research-heavy, month-long consulting challenges I've done:
Walmart Blue Labs
Working alongside Walmart's innovation incubator, I had the opportunity to help them design their store of the future for 2030 from a Gen Z perspective. Our group made a thorough deck going over our idea to bring health to the forefront of Walmart's goals. As a top-performing team, I even got the opportunity to pitch our solution to C-Suite Executives and even the CEO of Walmart Canada!
United Nations
With the United Nations, I had the opportunity to consult on a recommendation focused on developing equality in the digital economy for women and girls in Nigeria. We worked with various women's rights organizations to create a recommendation deck to share with the United Nations that outlined our detailed solution involving policy change suggestions to create equality.
Acadium
Acadium is an organization focused on helping digital marketers in training gain valuable work experience. Their problem statement involved developing ways to acquire 100,000 students for their program within 6 months for under $10 per person. As a group, we developed a stand-alone deck that outlined our solution to leverage online platforms and key demographic hotspots to acquire new members.
Innovation Design Sprints
Similar to the consulting challenges above, I've also done shorter, innovation-centric design sprints to help solve some important problems organizations face. These projects can be seen below:
Bladder Cancer Canada
This week-long design sprint was focused on partnering with healthcare companies to provide solutions for their problem statement. My group partnered with Bladder Cancer Canada, a newer non-profit organization that was looking for ways to better reach newly diagnosed Canadians to offer support and resources. This is the deck we made to present to them with our solution, which involved leveraging online media platforms for outreach.
